2nd Day After Surgery

By 11:00am today Jim was sitting up in a chair and had been to the bathroom. With the help of two nurses, he had also gone for a walk twice. Around noon, they removed his catheter and the chest tube that was draining fluid. Temporary pain, but a big relief to get them removed 48 hours after surgery.

Respiratory Therapy visited and said he was doing wonderful with his breathing. Last night he had started to struggle a bit while sitting in the chair, but that was obviously a short-term issue.

He will likely be released to go home over the weekend. We are currently looking at setting up a calendar of sorts where people can sign up to visit once he gets home. We think it will help Jim if people come by. We'll post it on this page when we have it figured out.

Thank you for your continued prayers!
